Mostly I think the manosphere defines itself as in opposition to feminism rather than in cooperation with it, lacks a psychologically healthy foundation, and contains a lot of toxic subcultures (such as PUA) that poison the whole pool.

Like I think a better starting point would basically be "Cool, feminism has done a lot of great work for analysing the societal consequences of gender norms, but it's written mostly by women so lacks an understanding of men's lived experience, can we fix that?"

Seems like maybe a. We’re told we have it good so analysis is detrimental. B. Same reason there aren’t as many male social workers? Interpersonal or social dynamics as low inclination.

I think it's a mix of lack of conditions that make it easy to do the work and a fair bit of opposition on all sides - conventional masculinity doesn't make it easy to admit weakness, and a lot (not most IME) of feminists tend to be quite unsympathetic to the program.

Like a lot of why I'm chatting on an alt now is that I tend to be a bit circumspect talking about masculinity specific issues on main because it skirts the edge of saying things that will get me cancelled.

Do men dominate any domain they decide is important to them, or do they decide that any domain that they dominate is what's important to them?
