It forces tapping into a deeper spring, yes, but the more you tap into it, the heavier the responsibility gets. And then you go deeper, and then the cycle continues.

As I think about it, the reason they 'leave' is because I can usually sit in their discomfort for longer than they can sit in it, which makes it that much more painful for them if they don't address the friction more directly than they would have otherwise.
