Also it's sometimes easier to treat people's bad behaviour as if it were like this because getting them off their bullshit is both not beyond your capabilities and not your responsibility anyway.

People will often have extremely valid needs that you are under no obligation to put up with. Sometimes this will require you to yeet people out of your life or change your relationship with them despite no fault by either party.

Feeling this deeply lately. It’s sad but freeing to realize “we are just not able to support each other right now and no one is to blame.” Life is long, you can walk away for a time and leave the door open for connection the future when either/both of you is in a different space.
