While designing a religion, it occurs to me that a big problem with Christianity is how serious and full of itself it is. It's missing a Trickster. Imagine Christianity, but it's Canon that the Holy Spirit is a mischievous bastard.

Maybe not in the canon, but just off the top of my head "Devil Came Down to Georgia" (song) and "How Much Land Does A Man Need?" (Tolstoy story) are both clear examples of Satan acting as Trickster.

Depends on the type of christianity I guess; I grew up fundamentalist, that type of cultural toying around w the devil as a character was seen as blasphemy. It’d be nice to have canon trickster, If only to make the fundies lighten up a bit
