Yes, EA provides some useful tools for individuals who are not utilitarian even though it's primarily aimed at utilitarians. But yeah it was a real revelation for me that being, say, the CFO of a startup could be a more altruistic career choice than being a social worker.

I'd probably describe it as a differently and not less altruistic career choice personally, but yeah the EA "Make and donate lots of money" advice is really good for some people.

I've been told I'm more of a Kantian after debating utilitarians, but I haven't really read any Kant. It's on my to-do list.

My (unvalidated) impression is that Kant is pretty unreadable, even in the original version let alone in translation, and you're better off reading https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/ethics-deontological/ … I'm more of a virtue ethics sort of genie though.
