What sort of exercise?
A very straightforward one! Take a side of A4 paper and write down anything I can think of that happened in childhood until the page was full. It wasn't even slightly difficult to fill the page, and I could probably have gone on for many more pages if I wanted to.

(I really didn't want to, and also it's an important part of free writing exercises like this to stop at the limit so they don't become aversive)
