Why don't I like vegetables? You'd think I wouldn't find them disgusting if they're so good for me. I keep putting vegetables in front of me and going 'ok I'll really eat them this time' and then I just don't eat them.

Probably because your association with vegetables is being forced to eat them as a kid, so you think of vegetables as something you need to coerce yourself into eating, and that tends to increase rather than decrease disgust?

(I know it's tiresome to ascribe everything to bad childhood experiences, but when someone describes scenarios of "I try to do something and then I repeatedly don't do it" it's at least worth considering)
