I kinda think the usefulness of this account being vaguely ungendered has run its course, so I guess I'll out myself as a man. I'm sure few to none of you are surprised.

I will probably continue using some of the linguistic patterns I adopted as part of the ungendered thing (e.g. using "they" when referring to both men and women as groups) because I think they're actually quite good and useful regardless of my particular gender though.

Part of why I'm outing myself is that a lot of the stuff that didn't feel safe to say on main fits into a broad category of "Feminism is usually right about the experiences of women and often wrong about the experiences of men" and that felt safer to tweet this way, but...

later in the thread it appears you have carefully thought out your own gender identity and performance, which matches with my previous observations that gender conforming cis ppl generally don't think about feminism with this much nuance

Yeah, I'm a bisexual cis man, but the cis bit took some checking and the people I hang out with skew heavily queer, and also heavily towards women. I also tend to respond to confusion by reading so when people told me to educate myself I read a tonne of feminist literature.
