It’s funny that smart people often are smart bc trauma leads to lots of explicit reasoning and that society worships explicit reason. So you get actually quite capable people who are bad at it and self conscious because of it and incapable people who excel at it. Jocks/nerds

Have you seen any surveys on this? My smart pals who had selective education seem to have been happier than those who didn't, but every big survey I can find is just about grades (positive, as you'd expect) and a little bit on income (mixed!)

One anecdote to add to the collection might be delayed difficulties in adulthood from having had a non-representative adolescent peer group: grossly overestimating the average person's intellectual ability and emotional stability (the latter especially as it's less measurable)
