But mostly I think it's not the sort of term that people use as identification because it's an intrinsically "none of the above" term, which tends to be a bit uninspiring, and so is only useful by contrasting it with something else.

The word most "none of the above" people would use to exclude themselvrs from a rarer contrasting category is probably just "normal", even if this seems insulting to the members of the minority category.
