The problem with every "would you press a button to achieve X outcome at Y cost" scenario is that unless you have a clear explanation of why that cost is necessary your default assumption should be that some powerful being is fucking with you and you shouldn't play its game.

I'm not saying you can't trust genies. I am saying that anyone who can achieve amazing outcomes at the push of a button needs a pretty fucking compelling argument as to why they're extracting a terrible price for doing so and asking you to make that choice.

I think you need more justification in the last step where you go from "a powerful being is fucking with you" to "you shouldn't play its game" :) Ok, I'm kidding, I feel the same way, but I'm not sure how sensible it is unless you have a mortals union to back you up

More seriously, I usually assume that the premises of a question are as stated if I can. I find the problems when I can't, when the premise is something that undermines everything else too like "they can see the future". Or if we play again knowing the result of the first time

Tbf I think these polls intend to ask for a simple choice between outcomes, like an economist. OTOH, economists' framings of costs rarely capture the full costs. Care is always wise when dealing with powerful incompletely aligned agents, even if they're not fully adversarial...
