I think there's a real problem with the system here. A lot of them are like stuff I can describe pretty well in a page and they're clearly good enough to be sometimes useful, but can I be arsed to do a bunch of work to make them publication ready? No sir I can not.

I guess I could write them up as blog posts or something but the reality is that literally nobody will ever read them if I do.

Look all I'm saying is that there's a clear market need for "The Journal of Half-Assed Ideas"

I was just talking about this yesterday to coworkers. I need some outlet with a lower bar than academic publication. There are several things I’ve worked on that would have some value to others, but not *nearly* enough to do the work to turn it into a paper.
Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

But there are no incentives set up for to put effort into anything that won’t lead to a publication. So somehow you have to pick one and put all your energy into the one that optimizes something like interest/effort. It’s not great.

Yeah, I'm not a fan. Part of the problem is that without the venue there's also just no point. The couple page version is useful if and only if people actually read it, and on a personal blog they basically just won't.
