I think you're probably underestimating how common this is. People meet friends through friends, and queer people tend to know other queer people. I do work with people many of whom I assume are straight, but it doesn't come up much and I don't know many of them well.
Oh yeah peak female attractiveness is super hard work. But there's a much broader range where you can still be considered attractive as a woman.

Oh, yeah, this is true. Sorry I meant that in the sense of "As conceptualised in our broader cultural scripts". Thing is, a lot of bi people don't end up learning the homosexual attraction scripts, for various reasons.
