postrats are basically just rationalists who decided that the rational thing to do was to get therapy but then because they were rationalists decided they were much smarter than all the therapists and they should do it themselves instead.

Some. It works better while high, and I also do a lot of self-therapy through writing things down. It's not the most effective thing, but I'd rate it above a mediocre therapist, and you can make up for a lot of quality with quantity.

I do expect I'm going to hit a wall at some point where it would be useful to see a real therapist, but so far my experiences of self-directed work have been more sustainedly useful than my experiences of therapy. Would probably change with a great therapist if I found one though

I think it can be helpful or unhelpful depending on what you're doing with it. I don't use it much but some of the times when I have gotten really high and done a bunch of introspection work the dissociative aspect of it has been kinda useful for having a conversation with myself
