Yeah but that just gets you to the point where you want to be right, it doesn't get you to the point where you don't want to avoid doing the thing that helps you be right. You end up with your foot on the brake and the accelerator at the same time.

It's also just a fuckton of work, especially if you have to keep updating. Better to update immediately, lose coherence, and let the rest of your worldview catch up as and when it needs to.

Oh, ok got it, yea I don't think these are in contradiction. Also think more and more frequent updating means all beliefs are more fluid as it were, quick to change, not that much inertia or friction
