Why wait to be coherent to do that? Make the bets anyway, use that as evidence for which bits of your worldview you should dial up and which you should dial down, don't sweat coherence too much.

I don't think so? Maybe we mean smth different by coherent. If my worldview is correct that means that there's all sorts of clear relationships between its contents (A implies B, B negates C, etc.) If you find something wrong you just cascade update!
