I wonder how much of the difference between nerd and normie use of language just comes from whether you learned about people through speech or writing.

In particular the sort of autistic precision nerds get very into (regardless of whether we're actually autistic) makes a lot of sense as a pattern of communication learned through communicating primarily in writing.

Strongly support this! This happens if you learned to read/write very early in your life because you see written stuff all the time around you and people don't necessarily have the patience to talk to you
