I wonder how much of the difference between nerd and normie use of language just comes from whether you learned about people through speech or writing.

Feels kinda parallel to the "Hard to distinguish which bits are neurodivergence and which bits are the trauma of being neurodivergent in neurotypical society" in some ways: If being different causes you to learn more of life from reading, you become yet more different.

Strongly support this! This happens if you learned to read/write very early in your life because you see written stuff all the time around you and people don't necessarily have the patience to talk to you
