Today, my office filed homicide charges against the former officer who shot and killed Keita O’Neil, an unarmed, Black man in 2017. As far as we are aware, this is the first time in San Francisco history that an officer has been prosecuted for homicide.
That suspect had a right to due process. We do not give officers the right to execute suspects who are not posing any direct and definite danger to anyone. The Supreme Court has ruled it is not legal to shoot a suspect just for fleeing. This cop deserves those charges. Period.

Sounds like the carjacker has a right to due process, but you don't see the need when it comes to the officer. Do I have that right?
