I had that same thought like "lol they just didn't want to deal with bugs on PS anymore" but then I remembered it was Oblivion that bricked my original Xbox 360 lol

The trick with Daggerfall on PC was not to travel too much, the more random cities it renders the sooner it crashes

I think XB1 ran worse initially, but it had poor performance on both consoles in general iirc
