    Everyone remember this story of the man who shot a Mom and her 5yo b/c she told him not to drive his scooter so fast through the neighborhood? Absolutely zero follow-up by the DC local "news." So typical.

    . Any update on this story? Is Bedney still in jail, or was he released? When is the trial? How is the family?

    As I testified before Congress, we need an Operation Warp Speed for nasal vaccines. Nasal vaccines have some important immunological properties and a lot of people are afraid of needles so a nasal vaccine would overcome much vaccine hesitancy.

    This new review on transmission makes the strong case for mucosal immunity, which could be achieved via nasal or oral vaccines, that are unfortunately not getting priority for development

    The consistent pattern with these institutions is they choose to impose a wholly unnecessary and invasive surveillance "testing" regime, and then when the surveillance inevitably turns up meaningless "cases," they blame the students for having engaged in normal social activity

    My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied

    Outside of families with exceptionally immunocompromised people, vaccinating kids will be mostly innoculating them against quarantine—which should make us rethink our quarantine rules.

    Vaccines for kids could come in OCTOBER. This is very exciting. The risk of serious illness to kids is very low. But: many of us eager to vaccinate our kids to protect them from any infection, to keep them in school and to protect older immune compromised people in our lives.

    in hindsight, it might have been a mistake to take a wide range of annoying interactions that are nevertheless a normal/unavoidable part of coexisting with other humans in a wildly diverse society and rebrand them as the much scarier-sounding “microaggressions”

    after 9/11 the USA was caught up in basically mass hysteria and we made some really bad decisions due to the fact that no one could just point out that the emperor had no clothes thank god we've learned from that and we won't look back at this time in the same way

    the left was right. in fact, many on the left were being small-c conservatives. it was pretty clear early on that the 'war on terror' was a massive global social engineering project, the exact type that conservatives traditionally oppose

    I was a leftist in college and participated in the big anti-Iraq War marches in DC. I've abandoned the politics of the Left, but on that point—opposition to the Iraq War—the left-wing activists were absolutely right.
