so we report on a 1-year piece of research, peer-reviewed and published in the top global env health journal. NZ Herald "balance" gives equal weight to unsubstantiated industry statements. did you ask them to show their workings ?

Great example of a win-win-win for health, climate and the economy. This excellent new study found that if NZers moved to a more plant-based diet the health system could save $billions and there would be huge reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

It is a disgrace that Christchurch, New Zealand’s second largest urban area by population, does not have passenger rail. A growing, rebuilding city, with residents who clearly stated they wanted a greener city, slamming down motorways in every direction.

The Government is spending 3x more on a single 22km road ($692m) than the entire $200m decarbonisation package.

Imagine a world where massive investment in new roads is not used by governments as an election year bribe because only ecocidal maniacs stuck in the 1960s would see any merit in such a plan.

So in the middle of a the NZ Govt prioritises spending billions on new motorways to increase emissions. Remember when said he wouldn't spend billions on gold plated motorways - well he just got out the motorway gold paint.

Our leftwing, progressive, public transport loving, hug giving, labour government has blessed us with 12billion dollar investment in *checks notes* National's plan to build more useless motorway lanes

These photos make me so happy. I know the resolution isn't final but the joy and relief on the whenua is palpable. These extraordinary people have fought for Papatūānuku and mana motuhake and won, a rare victory under colonisation. I hope they can rest soon. ✊🏾

Leading scientists call for urgent action to save insects, such as "reduce greenhouse gas emissions, reversing agricultural intensification, including reduced synthetic pesticides & fertilisers & pursuing their replacement with agroecological measures."

It is no coincidence that toxic algal blooms are on the rise in the region with the highest rate of chemical fertiliser use and highest cow numbers in NZ. Time to cut chemical fertiliser and

This announcement is disappointing & now means that new water rules due in April are the last chance for to make good on promises to clean up rivers. These rules must put a cap on chemical fertiliser or they will be meaningless.

If you're wondering what a Bridges/Seymour government would look like, this week they've: -leapt to the defence of a white supremacist who boasted of owning illegal guns -complained about children being taught about climate change -opposed pay rises for minimum wage workers

Just some light economic treason in the climate change school resource, which I can only assume is the product of a sinister collaboration with Te Papa and the Royal Society.

This is exciting. I strongly believe that community renewable energy projects are the key to energy independence, resilience & affordability. Our energy system is so broken. Progressive climate policies have the potential to fix that.
