Mar 7, 1944: I was hiding in plain sight in Casteljaloux, a relatively large village.This night we bicycle south to a farm. I stay in that barn. I don't have to hide all day - we are so far off the road. I play soccer w/ the family's 6 yr old boy. #WII, @CAP_USAF_AUX @usairforce

It must of felt pretty surreal. One moment you're embroiled in WW2 the next you're in the French countryside doing what most Dads would do with their sons in the afternoon after school.

Someone should make a movie about your life. I grew up in Lincoln County. We were all so proud of you breaking the sound barrier. Following you on Twitter has opened my eyes to what an interesting life you lead and what a great storyteller you are.
