Mar 6. 1944: After landing, I moved far away in case Germans or enemy French saw where I landed. I heard a woodsman chopping wood; approached him cautiously. He gestured for me to stay put (spoke no English), he would return. After he left, I moved far, hid, watched, waited. #WWII

I heard a story that a family friend was with you when the maquis aided your escape. Do you recall a B24 pilot named Elbert Tucker?

Sorry, I wasn’t clear. Tucker was a friend of my family. He passed away in 95 but his family had mentioned the story to us. It’s a privilege to have even this small conversation with you. Made my day!
