There weren't many P51's in Britain for the Battle of Britain, so that makes the Spitfire the better plane.

There were no P51s involved in the Battle of Britain. The first P51s were delvered to the RAF in October 1940 by which time the Battle was over. The planes only became exceptional when fitted with the Rolls Royce Merlin engine (also manufactured under license by Packard)

I know. So they were nowhere near as useful as Spitfires. In fact, (as you say), not even available for it....(You failed to mention that America wasn't in the Battle of Britain either.)
