Q: Did MIG-15 fly anything like F-86-there were copy-cat rumors A: No. MiG-15 didn't have flying tail so could not go supersonic. Later models of F-86 could. So when I test flew MiG-15 in S. Korea during Korean War, I could only get it to .94 #MiG15, #F86, #NorthKorea #SouthKorea

I do enjoy your good-hearted USAF rivalry with this USN (3 Naval Aviators in my family) but in spite of that you still rank high on my all-time Leadership list (Eisenhower and Churchill at the top) and it may be time to reread your 1986 autobiography (one of the best).

As you’re probably aware, 1965’s USN flight manual for F-4 had title page depicting 2 USAF Phantoms approaching fantail of carrier and, as a result, all hands abandoning ship.
