  Was stationed at Langley AFB when F15 fitst rolled out. Every Friday for months, a loud after burner takeoff told us a demo flight was beginning. We’d all step outside and watch this amazing plane.

  I got to see the first one loaded into a C-5 in St. Louis bound for Edwards. FAA wouldn't let a new airframe & engines take off from Lambert.
