One of the arguments for this is that the Canadian system has improved under ATC privatization. Any insight there?

I can easily speak to it. Governing body still remains federal/gov controlled. Its the actual ATC service that gets privatized. Works great.

Canada privatized in the 1990s and the result was better service and up-to-date equipment. Budget is based on needs rather than politics.

Just think how accident reports would read if they privatized the NTSB

I don't follow. Could the private sector not investigate accidents?

Another agency GOP wants to privatize for donor-class to plunder for profits then expect bail outs from tax payers when economy goes south!

This sort of thing is what keeps an economy from going south

My brother has worked under both British and Canadian privatised ATC. Depends on exactly how privatisation is implemented and run.

In the UK, the privatized ATC system got into deep financial trouble, & had to be bailed out by the gov't (read, "taxpayers")
