  My uncle, WW2, RAF Mosquito & Beaufighter pilot, ground crew fitted wooden blocks to rudder pedals. Flew fine & downed a 110 over Holland.

  Many of the best pilots in war were small:Albert Ball VC, the Red Baron- in WW1, many great pilots in WW2, Korea, Vietnam were small too.
