Most American troops are in Europe to essentially be the cost-free (to the European nations) army of Europe. We’re pulling back troops from the countries that refuse to pay into NATO what they are bound to pay. (Many countries have been skimping on it for years.)

a) You don't "pay into" NATO. b) There is no "bound to pay”. c) The deal wrt. to Germany is: "as long as you don't go nuclear, we will provide you a credible nuclear deterrent” d) The one and only time in history that Article 5 has been invoked was by the US, and Europe helped

Watching "the man in the high castle." Thank you for all your achievements, Sir. I don't see how our post covid future won't bring us to breed more "right stuff" made heroes though...

When I look out of the window I see more possibility of breeding "The Wrong Stuff", unfortunately. It´s sad, but our generation made the mistake to make that possible.

The reason we had troops in Germany, and still do, is because they made war against the world twice in 20 years. It was an army of occupation.

From the speach of the first NATO commander in Europe: "The job of Nato is to keep the Russians out, the Americans in and the Germans down."

It doesn’t strengthen our alliances though to pull out and make accusations against Germany
