I used to fly with a test pilot for over 7 years named Thurston Mallard. I think he might’ve been a little older than you, and he also flew a B-36 Convair. Have you had any experiences with the B-36, and do you know of him?

Hi Russell, on a whim I googled Thurston's name and found this tweet. Thurston was my great-grandfather, me being the oldest of his great-grandchildren. Awesome to see this tweet!

It was a frustration that the -29 had so many problems when first introduced. Test pilot Eddie Allen & crew were killed test-flying an early version. Eventually, the 3350 engines in turbocompound form, powered the Super Constellation and DC-7.
