April 1944 We trudge along up the Pyrenees to escape the Gestapo. 3' snow, bad weather, not much food. I carry a wounded airman so he won't get shot.

it's (the story) is down in my basement on my bookshelf. him and the other pilot hid out in a cabin on a mountain, and almost got caught, then they hiked east out of the pyrenees (sic?) till they hooked up with the french resistance. that's just off the top of my head.
