Q @MatthewAGilbert As a member of the Rogers Commission what are your lasting thoughts re the #SpaceShuttleChallenger disaster 34 years later? A: @NASA knew there was a problem, launched anyway because the media was leaving & NASA wanted publicity. Well, they got it @HISTORY @WSJ

General Yeager we need your help to keep NASA on track to go back to the moon. The recent NASA authorization bill from the House is a step backwards.

To prove to all the moon landing naysayers, antivaxxers, flat earthers, et al that we actually did it in the first place. Maybe they'll believe HDTV.

To continue the spirit of human exploration and advancement as you broke the sound barrier and went into the unchartered territory at that time. I think that is a worthy goal for the new generations to look up upon the stars.

"Why go back to the moon?" The Moon allows for faster iterations (because of frequent launch windows and short time to destination) and provides numerous commercial opportunities. These open the door for much more investment than the dollars that NASA alone can provide.

Why does Rice play Texas? Why sail across the Atlantic? We need to push the envelope of human exploration by learning to live and work on other worlds. I believe it is in our world’s best interest to have the United States leading the way on these new frontiers.
