Q fr @NoliMarcelo Didn't the NF-104 have a tail chute that could be deployed to arrest flat spins? A: Every time the nose started to descend which would naturally cause increase in speed, the chute would slow it down keeping in a spin or re-starting the spin. @HISTORY @EdwardsAFB

The plane looked fairly stable, except for the flat spin of course! I was wondering why the rudder seemed ineffective, was the engine producing forward thrust?
