While deployed to the Middle East as an aircraft mechanic in 2010, I was selected to have go have dinner with some “distinguished visitors” one night by my squadron section chief. I had no idea who I was about to meet. What an honor. https://bobgillilandsr71.com/album/legends-of-the-aerospace-tour/ …

I've just looked up where Leiston is, only a small portion of runway left to see on Google. Now farmland. Google maps also brings up the airfield memorial. http://www.friendsofleistonairfield.co.uk/

So, those Afghan bases where "no one" visits can't be called as such anymore, because "someone" of legendary stature (that's you, General Yeager) has visited them. God bless you more, sir.

Sir it just occurred to me that I've met some great celebraties Like Ronald Reagan who with his secret service would pop up at the Armon Hammer, golf course and watch me play as he walked around. But,I will never meet anyone again that is going to surpass meetingyou on Twitter.
