I would have done Air Force ROTC in college if I had been better informed about how it all worked. It is one of my few regrets in life

Military academies are still teaching an 18th century version of the military. Modern enlisted force - where education/higherr intelligence scores are prereq's to even enlist - is full of highly educated junior NCO's. I had 2 Sgts w/ masters in my sqdn in the 90's More now

The 18th century? You're not even close to correct.

The officer-enlisted dynamic hasn’t and likely will never change. Es view Os as out of touch and Os don’t care what Es think.

My daughter and son-in-law are Navy officers. They went to OCS after college. Selection was hard, but they both made it through. Son-in-law went through flight school and is now a helicopter pilot.

I’ve worked for ring knockers as an enlisted soldier and an NCO. It was still an ongoing problem when I was in.

Chuck Yeager knows what they teach you in college and what they don't... That is some great advise right there..
