The F-20 was a great machine but the F-16 came online about the same time with a little more: 9 Gs, fly-by-wire, near 1.0 thrust-to-weight ratio. Pricier. A bit biased as I worked at G.D. Ft Worth from 86 thru 91. A couple F-16 test flights every week from Carswell AFB nextdoor.
