Gen Doolittle had a lot of guts and was an American Hero. My father flew B-17s in the 8th Air Force during WWII. loved Curtiss Lemay had nothing good to say about Jimmy Doolittle. Said he was a lousy General / leader.

You were only a flight officer then? That surprises me. Somebody screwed up in not seeing you potential.

I knew the General. Hunted quail and ducks in the Antelope Valley with him several times. I was fortunate enough to have my dad, an aviator, meet him. Quite interesting to say the least! Dry Sack sherry!
