And so it began: April 6, 1917 – The United States enters World War I, declaring war on Germany. #Germany #WWI #WWII #Europe @USArmy @usairforce

Europe started those two World Wars, and the US ended them.

We were the kicker who made a last second field goal to win it in both world wars. Britain/France and Russia did the slogging up and down the field for the first three and a half quarters.

Maybe that works as a criticism of WW1 (although we really didn't have a dog in that fight). It's clearly bullshit with respect to WW2.

Russia inflicted four million military casualties on the Germans. One and a half million German casualties in all other theaters. I’d say that’s most of the work. No doubt US controlled the Pacific theater.

I find it a highly American-centric point of view that we did as much or more as Russia to defeat Germany in WW2. Does the rest of the world share this conclusion?

Would Russia have survived without food and supplies from the USA? They were close to losing it all, despite the damage they were inflicting on the German Army. Would Britian be forced to negotiate with Hitler if USA were truly neutral?
