    Feb 19, 1936 – Death of William Lendrum “Billy” Mitchell, US Army general who is regarded as the father of the U. S. Air Force. The Congress voted and authorized the US President to award General Mitchell (and me) an honorary 2nd star. I don't think it's happened. @FoxNews @TIME

        My granddad Tommy Brown was a tailgunner in a B-25 Mitchell in the SW Pacific theatre in New Guinea, Palau, and the Philippines 1944-45. Survived two crash landings and one flew one more time in his life, post war. The Mitchell was a great aircraft.
