  But having read accounts from fighter pilots in WWII - their minds unconsciously separate from "killing am enemy combatant", i.e., a pilot in a dogfight - to "killing" a plane? Just wondering how your felt about same ... :-)

  As a pilot, isn’t the goal for the plane to be an extension of your body? Seems like that’d be true for the other guy, too.
