In 1956 the @usairforce developed a Flying Saucer
designed to travel at MACH 4. Called “Project 1794.” The problem is, even badass pilots like @GenChuckYeager pass out at MACH 2. They kept it classified for 64 years.

That thing had turbojet engines? How could it go Mach 4? That would mean the exhaust gases from the turbojet engines would have to me going Mach 4+ (the + needed to overcome the drag).

It was DESIGNED to go MACH 4 per declassified documents, but based on what little footage exists, was an utter flop.
