I got my first and last flight lesson from a WW2 German fighter ace when I was 9. I wanted to try a loop de loop in a glider, he didn't approve and was a bit pale when we landed. I don't think he could have flown under the bridge ;)

Here’s a picture of the Crooked River Bridge (with the concrete Rex Barber Memorial Bridge beyond it), near Culver, Oregon. Rex once flew his P-80 under it. That was his second claim to fame, after participating in the raid to shoot down Admiral Yamamoto. https://www.tripadvisor.com/LocationPhotoDirectLink-g52092-d1526081-i155182474-Peter_Skene_Ogden_State_Scenic_Viewpoint-Terrebonne_Oregon.html …

Disclaimer: Rex Barber May have actually flown under the Crooked River Railroad Bridge, just under a mile to the west of the Crooked River Highway Bridge, but *Damn!* that looks like an abrupt turn just beyond the bridge. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crooked_River_Railroad_Bridge#/media/File%3ACrooked_River_Canyon_(Oregon)_pano.jpg …
