Michelle Tandler 🔦 @michelletandlerSan Francisco Crime PSA #2: Burglaries are now up 40% YoY for the trailing 3 weeks in the majority of the city. I am reading all over@Nextdoor about break-ins. Consider investing in a security setup or asking your landlord to do so. pic.twitter.com/U9HHVFOg0GShow this thread1 reply 0 retweets 2 likesShow this thread -

Michelle Tandler 🔦 @michelletandlerA crime drop in the past two weeks is *NOT* proof that releasing people from jail leads to a decrease in crime. It's likely correlated with everybody being inside -- making it harder to attack, rob, rape, etc. This was retweeted by SF DA@chesaboudin. pic.twitter.com/N4IdEb0SIZShow this thread1 reply 0 retweets 1 likeShow this thread -

In 2021 I want to do better on Twitter. I want to write fewer, better posts, and use more data and statistics where possible. Do you have suggestions for how I can contribute more effectively to this community? Please let me know. DMs are open.

My suggestion is the same is before, join the forum so we can structure the conversations among citizens in an effective way to engage with our elected leaders. You can be one of the key moderators on the topics you mention. Lead it to practical solutions that will get 60% vote.

You joined.
Btw, yesterday, our district (8) supervisor held a zoom call with @chesaboudin and the police officers to discuss crime issues.
The meeting was ineffective. It felt like they were talking AT citizens rather than engaging WITH citizens.

That format is not conducive to an ongoing dialog between citizens and their elected reps. I wrote to the my supervisors staff since they asked for how we could improve it.
