Most democrats want to be humane but also know that you can't have people on the streets. Housing + services is the compromise. Just housing w/o services is where the debate is. There is compromise to be had. Like any compromise, 60% support passes it.

You can't be humane w/o making the right decisions. Have you been to a homeless shelter? They have housing & services. What they dont have is the 3rd part that you're suggesting, Detention. This will not be had by Democrats because it blows their fake perception of being humane.

That's why these things are not easy. There's a lot of nuances. It needs to be thought thru, explained, written in laws that work with sunset provisions to reevaluate and do it all in a very messy democratic system. it's not going to be solved in 280 character snippets.

But we don't do that. We call Democrats humane and Republicans who pose the same very practical, needed questions to be inhumane. Same goes for the person that died in orig post. Not every criminal needs to be released due to "mass incarceration" BS generated by the Democrats.

Hmm, I haven't seen that. I haven't heard or seen a republican policy about mental illness or homeless or housing that comes any where close to a practical solution. At best, their policy is no money and let the states handle it. They don't even talk about it. Show me.

They dont have a plan because they dont need one. Homelessness is a problem in blue states and cities. Miami(blue city in a red state) despite having warmer weather than LA doesnt have the same problem. This is also a great time to ask why that is the case?

If I am not mistaken, it’s worse in San Diego and Hawaii than here but there they can survive easier on the streets due to weather Homelessness is in cities primarily. Democrats like cities but the two aren’t correlated

But homeless like Democrat states and cities. Here's a source and just look at each city/state they're in. Again you get what you incentivize....just like single parent homes.pic.twitter.com/bz0xsH4Fsr

“homeless like Democrat states” This is a false conclusion. I don’t know of single instance where a homeless person says I like blue states so I’ll go there. Cities yes but correlation to party

A lot of homeless have an IQ under 75, kids have an IQ over 90 or more. We(Democrats) have decided children need supervision & homeless even when they are repeat offenders of homelessness dont require supervision. As in detention.

I’m ok with detention. If we want the system changed then people need to organize and get the fellow voters to engage with our elected reps
We vote and then we rant on Twitter
It’s why I created a forum for #SanFrancisco residents to come together in >280 chars w/ elected reps
