Prikvačeni tweet
Either I look a lot like my husband, or my facial recognition software needs work. Not sure which I prefer.pic.twitter.com/a3KeoFrgKQ

I've worked professionally in software for 18 years and I can say with certainty that you should not use software for anything

Test-run #2 of a kid-friendly no-sew LED wearables project using fairy lights. I coiled up the LED strand to decrease distance between LEDs, then used black puffy paint to both camoflage the wire and secure the LEDs to the baseball cap.pic.twitter.com/m2heEYVnZK

See how the new
@Adafruit#Clue pairs wonderfully with the@brightwearables Bright Board/packpacks and see the work I've been doing with the scientist of the day in this edition.https://twitter.com/adafruit/status/1222898771601702917 …Hvala. Added some blue puffy paint stars. I think it's a big improvement.pic.twitter.com/pivO0Zk1HJ

Testing out an idea for a kids' project. Glued fairy lights to a hat, then camoflaged the wires with puffy paint, which also holds them in place once dry. I don't love the result, but wonder if the technique might still work in a different project.pic.twitter.com/ODnRmiWeYC

Thanks,

By the grace of Amazon Prime, LED matrix bracelet #2 just arrived. Extricated the electronics unscathed. I think the next challenge should be to try to program it. Never hacked a chip before, but have ordered an ST-LINK and will post my efforts once it arrives.pic.twitter.com/BH6WIOeNS3

Oops, mismarked in picture, though I said it correctly. 7=GND, 9=V+

h/t to
@itsaddis for pointing out that the LEDs may be charlieplexed. The chip has sufficient pins to make it work for 140 LEDs, and it would explain the LEDs lighting up in groups.Prikaži ovu nitHvala. Twitter će to iskoristiti za poboljšanje vaše vremenske crte. PoništiPoništi -
More chip info. I've identified the programming pins (4 & 18) and found pin 7 = GND, pin 9 = V+pic.twitter.com/SaVqyHxyFc

More screwing around. The LEDs light up in groups of 10 when pin outputs are set high on the chip.pic.twitter.com/jWBfatGhxH

A better close-up of the chips. Identified the V+/GND pads with a multi meter.pic.twitter.com/8MNh9fln3R

Taking a break from Twitter now. Family is expressing hunger, and attempts to distract them with my discoveries have failed. Will see if I can figure anything else out later.

The small chip has the marking 7533-1, so its an LDO voltage regulator. The larger chip is unmarked on the top. No idea how one programs this thing.pic.twitter.com/kOcA7KdN8G

I've spent the $12 to order another one on Amazon Prime, and will take another stab (bad choice of words) at it, now that I have a better idea of how its held together.

There's good & bad news:
Guts are open & show a flexible LED matrix glued around the inner plastic shell with a small microchip controller.
In my initial attempts to wedge open the plastic, I tore the LEDmatrix near the power connection, and broke it.pic.twitter.com/61zU9NcvhE

Ok, gave up any attempt to keep the outer plastic shell in one piece. I snipped off the top edge until I could free the guts (bottom piece). All electronics are still intact.pic.twitter.com/kKMyAQ3HPG
