so what, the size of the Scottish deficit is determined by Westminster spending we would not waste as much money
-
eh? So what money are the Scottish Government "wasting" right now then?
-
paying our share of Trident, bombing Syria, foreign office, overseas aid, crumbling Westminster to name but a few.
-
= £15bn per year? I don't think so. You believe iScotland shouldn't spend money on overseas aid?
-
foreign aid in UK is less to help people and more to do with political aims and lining ex pats and consultancies pockets
-
I don't agree. Either way, it's not what I asked you. Do you believe iScotland should have no foreign aid?

can u explain the deficit to me? How did we come about having one without the equivalent borrowing powers? Bank bail out? :(
-
it came about because we are spending more than we raise. And we can do that because we benefit from being in Barnett.
-
u know I don't think Barnett is all that great ;)
-
well if we didn't have it, we'd have £15bn to find this year...
-
I don't wanna argue over Gers cos I hate it. I don't think the methodology is the most efficient or accurate.
-
what's wrong with it?
-
when all it is evidence of is how poor Scotland's finances are managed whilst part of the union.

-
if it's not a true picture of where we'd be on independence, someone better tell us the secret to additional £15bn revenue.
