  4. The Free Speech Bill will protect the rights of students, academics & speakers. Fulfilling our manifesto commitment and bolstering existing legal duties. We want universities to be places where open, intellectual debate is not limited by the chilling effect of 'cancel culture'.

    All remaining university students can return to campus and resume in-person learning from Monday 17 May – as the country takes the next step on the roadmap for leaving lockdown.

  7. Pupils will no longer be advised to wear face coverings in schools and colleges from 17 May, as infection rates decrease and the vaccination roll-out covers most adults. All other protective measures such as 'bubbles', extra hygiene & social distancing will remain in place.

  12. School uniforms must be affordable for parents and pupils. A new law to keep uniform prices down has received Royal Assent today, meaning pupils won't be priced out of attending school.
