  1. When an organization such as European Court of Human Rights starts to protect systems of beliefs and dogmas to the detriment of individual liberties, it has evidently forgotten and betrayed its history and mission.

  2. The New York Times's biased reporting leaves the reader with the impression that all the people killed were civilians, although many were armed Hamas fighters. Even Hamas acknowledges that many of those killed were its combatant fighters.

  3. Iran's terror campaign is not directed only at the West's democratic ally in the Middle East, but also at Europe itself. Europe's appeasement of Iran is based on weakness and greed, and it has chosen Iran over its values and the transatlantic alliance.

  4. What do we learn from Palestinian New Year's messages? The Palestinians are determined to continue the fight against Israel; to reject any peace plan presented by the US; to continue raising new generations on the glorification of violence and terrorists.

  5. A recent development in a two-year-old corruption scandal -- involving the so-called "Islamic University of Europe" in the Netherlands -- has renewed public interest in the institution, involving tax fraud.

  6. Pastor Paul Song was fired from his job as a chaplain at Brixton prison in London after the managing chaplain, Imam Mohammed Yusuf Ahmed, accused Song of promoting "extreme" Christian views. Song said he was ousted due to false claims by a Muslim prisoner.

  7. The Treaty of Lisbon considers the interests of the European Union to be above the interests of individual states and citizens, making the EU an authoritarian political system that infringes on human and political rights.

  8. Why should people respect the social contract when politicians don't? The assertiveness of supra-national organisations with a focus on global policy-making is a threat to the sovereignty of the nation state, and dilutes the power of individuals within it.

  9. It would be wise to maintain the small US presence in Syria while reducing the US profile in Iraq, to forestall a demand by Iraq for a total US withdrawal. Now it's probably too late: Syrian Kurds have decided to abandon the US before the US abandons them.

  10. Before the 1913-23 Christian genocide, approximately 1/3 the population of the territory that is now Turkey was Christian. Today, around 0.2% of Turkey's population is Christian. Despite this history, many Turks still target Christians unapologetically.

  11. The weakening of political parties, unions, international organs, and institutions like parliaments that provided platforms for debate and decision-making, has deprived many societies of a space for the battle of ideas and competition among policy options.

  12. The British government's idea of who is -- and who is not -- a legitimate asylum seeker becomes stranger by the month.

  13. Censored from today's campuses is discussion of another, in various respects competing, intersectionality: That of the shared, intersecting, predicaments of today's victims of Islamist aggression, including terrorism.

  14. Gatestone provides reports and analyses that you will not find anywhere else, and which the mainstream media and much of the political class have been trying to censor. Our important work is only made possible through the financial support of our readers.

  15. Human rights organizations turn a blind eye to Hamas' assault on the public freedoms of Gazans. They are either afraid of Hamas, or do not give a damn about human rights violations unless they can find a way of pointing an accusatory finger at Israel.

  16. When Turkey applied for full membership in the European Union in 1987, the world was an entirely different place. Today, 31 years later, Turkey's democratic deficit has grown just too bitterly huge to make it compatible with Europe's democratic culture.

  17. Pakistan was among the nations recently designated by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as "Countries of Particular Concern" for having engaged in or tolerated "systematic, ongoing, [and] egregious violations of religious freedom."

  18. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and his cohorts have long been waging a campaign of hate and incitement against Israel -- one that aims at depicting Israelis and Jews as "criminals" and "murderers."

    Undo
  19. President Trump's optimism about a potential Turkish military campaign to finish off ISIS looks premature. Trump taking seriously Erdoğan's pledge to "eradicate whatever is left of ISIS" is also problematic. ISIS & its offshoots are Erdoğan's former allies
