  1. Labour compliance need: 1. A group of new/fresh staff members who are independent of internal Labour party factional fighting. 2. A panel of antisemitism experts who are again not bogged down in the factional in-fighting within the Labour Party. 3. Better template emails.

    1. Who are you to condemn what says? 2. It is time for you to recognize that we - who are not white and privileged men - are done with the “civility” you white and privileged men worship. It has served - always - you and only you. 3. We are done. Fuck civility.

u guys wrote all this and didn't ever stop to think for a moment that there might be some kind of correlation between train fares being expensive and only wealthier households using them?

  5. I agree. Context is everything with such matters. It also depends entirely on whether the expression of anger is justified or not. Whether something is viewed as crass & childish or if it’s seen as actually speaking truth to power. The oppressed have no obligation to be polite.

When Trump is praised for his racism & misogyny it’s hard to keep the anger polite.

  7. Such an approach also designed to promote the notion that the oppressed should just sit back down, be quiet and ‘behave’ themselves or that if they ‘rock the boat’ too much then they’ll be isolated and be treated worse than they already are... I’ve seen how this works in action.

  8. On top of all this... the reality that underpins the demand for & others to be ‘polite and respectful’ or to not ‘bring their position into disrepute’ is fundamentally all about finding excuses to discredit them and keep them oppressed.

  9. I mean we literally live in a world where people demand that individuals like conduct themselves to an extremely high standard and yet ignore the obscene behaviour/statements/mannerisms of white men like ... how fucked up is that?!?!?

  10. This absurd demand that politicians have to maintain a polite, respectable and ‘upstanding’ in their discourse is nearly always applied whenever women, people of colour, LGBTQI+ and other vulnerable groups start getting too vocal/outspoken and is designed to silence them.

  11. Main reason people are lining up to express ‘outrage’ about calling Trump a motherfucker is that their privilege is challenged by presence of a proud Palestinian-American Muslim woman as her mere existence in politics melts their small-minded, racist brains.

. Thank you for starting the social media movement. So loved all the amazing women from across the country and world who shared their gorgeous Palestinian thobes. We inspired so many. This historic moment belongs to all of us.

On her first day in Congress, not only humanized and normalized the Palestinian people, she also called for the impeachment of Trump. She is stepping it up and I'm sure will pay a heavy price.

This Rashida Tlaib uproar is so weird and nonsensical. Lots of House Democrats think Trump should be impeached -- Brad Sherman reintroduced an impeachment resolution yesterday! Maybe she should have said Democrats are going to grab him by the pussy.

  19. It’s about time activists stopped trying to utilise the collective trauma and history of oppression that Jews have faced as a way of insulting and hurting members of the Jewish community. This appropriation does massive damage to Palestine solidarity.

  20. Let’s be absolutely clear; targeting those who are putting together Holocaust memorial events simply because of involvement of Israelis or organisations like is NOT a legitimate act of Palestine solidarity. Those who take such actions should be ashamed of themselves!
